On 1 June 2026, the minimum wage in France, the so-called SMIC (salaire minimum interprofessionnel de croissance), will increase. The change in question stems from the significant rise in the consumer price index that occurred in France this year.
1. Inrease in the SMIC

- the increase in purchasing power of the average hourly wage for blue-collar and white-collar workers.
In exceptional cases, the SMIC amount may change during the year. This occurs in the event that the consumer price index rises by at least 2% compared to the previous year. This threshold was exceeded on 13 May 2026.
