On 1 January 2026, the minimum remuneration for work in Germany will increase. The change not only results in higher wages received by workers seconded to Germany, but also requires employers and temporary employment agencies posting workers to Germany to update HR documents and re-examine business strategy.
1. Change in the minimum hourly wage in Germany
In 2025, the minimum hourly salary in Germany was EUR 12.82. On 1 January 2026, it will increase to EUR 13.90. Therefore, wage growth will amount to EUR 1.08.
2. New rates for temporary workers
From 1 January 2026, a new collective labour agreement for temporary workers – GVP-DGB – will come into force. It will replace the previously applicable iGZ-DGB (and BAP-DGB) collective agreements.
The new collective agreement provides for new, higher hourly wages for temporary workers. The change in remuneration rates for temporay workers is as follows:
